The Society of Jesus Mary Joseph was founded by Rev. Fr. Mathias Wolff, SJ in the year 1822 in Holland for the education of young girls. The Seven Dutch missionaries arrived in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India on 24th February 1904. In 1962 the Indian Province obtained autonomy to certain extent and Bangalore Province, Guntur Province, Hyderabad Province took place in July 1987 and the Raipur Province is bifurcated from Hyderabad in 2009.
The Extraordinary Provincial Chapter, Guntur Province began with fervor and hope in the Lord who walks with us on our journey as we embark the new beginning, on 5th November 2017.
