Final Vows 2022
Treasuring the Bicentenary Year Life


The day was dawned with its splendour and beauty to sing praises of the Lord as we celebrated the perpetual profession of our six sisters from Guntur province and Sr. Evangeline from Ghana, Africa on 29th July 2022.

It was with great pleasure and pride on this auspicious day as the JMJ Sisters from Guntur province, Special invites, parents and relatives of the final vows Sisters, Priests, Nuns from other Congregations participated in this occasion. The NCC Band from JMJ College Tenali, with their tempo, magnificently led the brides in a procession with the lighted lamps along with their parents, priests, Superior General and her council, Provincial Superior and her council and Rt. Rev. Ch. Bhagaiah Bishop of Guntur and followed by con-celebrants.

After that the entire assembly marched forward to the altar of God to part take in the Holy mass, Most Rt. Rev. Bhagaiah, the Bishop of Guntur officiated the Holy Eucharistic celebration. The homily by Rt. Rev. Bhagaiah, inspired. After the homily the Rite of a Perpetual Profession began when our seven sisters prostrated before the altar of God surrendering themselves to God Almighty as the litany of the Saints was sung. They pronounced their vows individually in the presence of Sr. Innamma Superior General and she accepted their vows in the name of the church and the Congregation. This was followed by the blessing of rings by Most Rev. Bhagaiah, presented the rings to sisters making perpetual profession as a symbol of their commitment to God forever.

Sr. Innamma the Superior general greeted the sisters and welcomed them to be the permanent members of the Congregation of JMJ sharing everything in common. At the end of the mass the bishop handed over the lighted candles to the four sisters wishing them to be the light of the world and finally the professed sisters entrusted themselves to the patronage of Jesus Mary Joseph by praying the prayer Consecration to Holy Family followed by a Holy Family song.

Thereafter Sr. Tresa and Council greeted and facilitated the Bishop, Superior General and her Council and perpetually professed Sisters with shawls and garlands. The students from Vijayawada performed dance adding more colour to the day of festivity. Later Sisters, Parents and relatives of the perpetually professed sisters felicitated the sisters with shawls, bouquets and gifts. The celebration came to an end with a sumptuous agape. It was a boundless joy for the Seven of our sisters who committed themselves to the Lord in the Congregation of Jesus Mary Joseph.
