The day dawned with its majesty and splendour to sing praises of the Lord, as we celebrated the perpetual profession of our two sisters from Guntur province, on 29th July 2024. Our dear JMJ sisters, parents, relatives, special invites and well-wishers, Priests, Nuns from other Congregations were gathered together to witness the final vows of Sr. Lourdhu Antony Rayappan and Sr. ManjulaKujur, marking a significant milestone in their religious life. This ceremony was a testament to their dedication and commitment to serving the Lord.
The event began with a procession as two of our sisters marched forward with the lighted lamps along with their parents, priests, Provincial Superior and her council and Most. Rev. Ch. Bhagyaiah, D.D Bishop of Guntur diocese and followed by con-celebrants.
Most Rev. Ch. Bhagyaiah, the Bishop of Guntur officiated the Holy Eucharistic celebration. After the homily the Rite of a Perpetual Profession began when our two sisters prostrated before the altar of God surrendering themselves to God Almighty as the litany of the Saints was sung. They pronounced their vows individually in the presence of Sr. Tresa K Provincial Superior and she accepted their vows in the name of the Church and the Congregation. Then the Bishop blessed the rings and presented the rings to sisters making perpetual profession as a symbol of their commitment to God forever.
Sr. Tresa K the Provincial Superior greeted the sisters and welcomed them to be the permanent members of the Congregation of JMJ sharing everything in common. At the end of the mass the Bishop handed over the lighted candles to the two sisters wishing them to be the light of the world and finally the professed sisters entrusted themselves to the patronage of Jesus Mary Joseph by praying the prayer of Consecration to Holy Family followed by a Holy Family song.
Thereafter Sr. Tresa and Council honoured the Bishop and perpetually professed Sisters were greeted by their superiors with garlands. The students from JMJ English medium School, Nagarjuna Nagar performed a dance adding more colour to the day of festivity. Later sisters, parents, relatives and parishioners greeted the perpetually professed sisters. The celebration came to an end with a sumptuous agape. It was a boundless joy for the two of our sisters who committed themselves to the Lord in the Congregation of Jesus Mary Joseph. We congratulate them on this occasion and support them with our humble prayers.
